About the position

The Mammography Radiologic Technologist at St. Joseph's Medical Center is responsible for performing a variety of digital mammography procedures under the direction of a Radiologist. This role emphasizes excellent patient care, communication, and adherence to regulatory standards while ensuring high-quality imaging services are provided.

Responsibilities

  • Perform digital mammography procedures including screening and diagnostic exams, wire localizations, galactography, biopsy procedures, and DEXA exams.
  • Ensure compliance with quality control standards in mammography.
  • Work independently while providing excellent patient care and communication.
  • Maintain documentation and record keeping related to mammography procedures.

Requirements

  • Documentation of Digital Mammography training (8 hours).
  • Mammography experience with at least 200 exams in the previous 24 months.
  • Mammography continuing education (15 hours in the previous 36 months).
  • Graduate of an AMA accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
  • Current CRT (California Radiologic Technologist) certification required.
  • Current Mammographic Permit required.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) card.
  • Good communication and patient care skills.
  • Ability to operate radiologic equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates degree preferred.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification preferred.
  • IV (Intravenous) Certification preferred.
