About the position
The Maintenance Technician at Buckner International is responsible for conducting maintenance operations for the building, equipment, and grounds of the Buckner Family Pathways/Family Hope Center in Lubbock, TX. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, janitorial tasks, and ensuring the cleanliness and servicing of assigned areas. The technician will also assist in safety inspections and maintain repair records, contributing to a safe and well-maintained environment for the community.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance functions including changing light bulbs, replacing broken switch plates, unstopping toilets, and hanging window coverings.
- Assist program directors in performing and documenting regular campus safety drills and producing safety inspection reports.
- Maintain repair, maintenance, and inspection records for campus and buildings, including pest control and lawn care.
- Perform basic repairs to buildings and miscellaneous equipment or appliances.
- Conduct routine campus cleaning functions, including picking up debris and maintaining storage areas in an orderly manner.
- Perform routine monthly safety campus inspections and report potential safety hazards.
- Function as the initial point of contact for maintenance requests and coordinate repairs with the supervisor.
- Perform deep cleaning of washers and dryers on campus semi-annually and maintain outside HVAC units.
- Report maintenance issues or needs to the Regional Office Manager and directors.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
- Minimum 1 year prior related maintenance experience preferred.
- Minimum 1 year prior related janitorial experience preferred.
- In-depth understanding of all phases of housekeeping operations.
- Basic knowledge of house cleaning devices and sanitation requirements.
- Ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) with appropriate state license and proof of liability insurance.
- Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Buckner.
- Ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods.
