About the position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing essential upkeep tasks across all facilities at Flora-Bama. This role involves a variety of maintenance activities, including repairs and improvements to ensure functionality and safety. The technician must possess solid technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to address issues promptly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential upkeep tasks throughout all facilities.
• Address and repair any maintenance issues promptly as assigned via work order.
• Assist with HVAC, heating, and refrigerant work as needed.
• Support management and event staff with special event setups and daily activities.
• Conduct daily cleaning of facilities and equipment and perform ongoing preventative maintenance.
• Complete required paperwork for finished tasks accurately.
• Handle minor plumbing tasks, including the replacement of sinks and toilets.
• Perform basic framing, carpentry, and electrical tasks.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a warm/hot environment.
• Willingness to work weekend hours and some nights.
• Ability to multitask and take ownership of assigned tasks.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently without direct supervision.
• Effective communication skills with guests, peers, and management.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic computer knowledge, including sending and receiving emails.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Capability to perform physical tasks such as constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for up to 8 consecutive hours.
