About the position

As the Maintenance Technician for Our Lady of Guadalupe, you'll provide general maintenance and basic repairs for various locations within the Tri-Parishes, which include Our Lady of Guadalupe, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and St. Alphonsus Church, in a professional manner that assures safety, efficiency, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect all buildings and facilities and initiate repairs to include changing lightbulbs, filters, etc.
  • Perform maintenance in areas such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, and others. For more complex issues, management must be notified.
  • Complete work orders and process them.
  • Responds to after-hours emergency calls as needed.
  • Work cooperatively with staff to schedule and complete repairs.
  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing.
  • Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
  • Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
  • Perform spot checks on equipment to ensure proper working conditions.
  • Move furniture and office equipment as requested.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of materials, parts, supplies, tools and equipment.
  • Complete special projects as directed by management.
  • Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities.
  • Consistently walk church building to inspect for cleanliness, clean when needed, and maintain appearance of all church indoor areas and front and back door entryways.
  • Adhere to safety training and protocols on a daily basis.
  • Set-up rooms in the manner and timeframe requested (tables, chairs, microphone, chalk boards, etc.).
  • Clean hall after events.
  • Provide janitorial/custodial support services to staff, including cleaning offices, taking out trash, cleaning restrooms and kitchens as needed.
  • Protect the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization.
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral.
  • Take a solution-oriented approach in interactions and undertakings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in maintenance related work.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver license.
  • Must have working knowledge of general maintenance tools.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team.
  • Must have good written and verbal skills.
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Must take initiative in completing tasks.
