About the position

Our community is seeking an experienced and efficient maintenance technician. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical condition of the community from both a preventative and corrective standpoint. A working knowledge of HVAC systems and various appliances, such as stoves, dishwashers, disposals, and refrigerators is required, as well as familiarity with electricity, plumbing, and carpentry.

Responsibilities

  • Complete service requests promptly (within 24 hours) and efficiently.
  • Service requests often involve plumbing, minor appliance repair, electrical system repair, HVAC, pool maintenance, and everyday routine maintenance of the interior of apartment homes and building exteriors.
  • Implement and follow OSHA safety programs; HVAC Certified preferred.
  • Grounds keeping tasks including removing litter and debris to promote an excellent curb appeal.
  • Pressure washing windows, building exteriors, and breezeways.
  • Exercise control over maintenance expenditures including keeping an inventory of frequently used parts and replacement items.
  • After-hours on call work shared with fellow maintenance team-members.
  • Some weekend duties and holiday work will be required periodically.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, work well with co-workers and vendors, and go above and beyond to work as a team.

Requirements

  • Property maintenance experience required.
  • Must have excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty pounds.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, proper automobile liability insurance, and dependable transportation.

Nice-to-haves

  • HVAC Certified preferred.
