About the position

The Maintenance Technician role at Targa Resources involves the operation, installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of various mechanical equipment. The technician will ensure the proper functioning of engines, compressors, pumps, and other equipment while adhering to safety policies and procedures. This position requires a strong work ethic, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in various conditions, including overtime and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate, install, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment including engines, compressors, pumps, and valves.
• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment to ensure proper function.
• Fill out work/hot work permits and lockout/tagout documentation.
• Attend and participate in tailgate sessions with work site teams.
• Understand and follow Targa's Safety Policies and Procedures and Business Ethics Policies.
• Plan and perform assignments safely using proper tools and safety precautions.
• Utilize precision tools such as hydraulic torque wrenches and laser alignment tools.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to interface with teams and vendors.
• Solid computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50lbs.
• Ability to work in changing climate conditions and close quarters.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in maintenance and operations of gas compressors with engine drivers, glycol dehydrators, and gas plant processing.
