About the position
The Maintenance Technician at Staybridge Suites Des Moines, IA is responsible for ensuring the overall operation and maintenance of the hotel. Responsibilities
- Maintain the overall operation of the maintenance department and the appearance of the hotel.
- Administer the company's maintenance and life safety programs, including purchasing and preventative maintenance.
- Ensure proper operation of the hotel's equipment and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and kitchen equipment.
- Handle maintenance request orders promptly and courteously, logging and following up on requests.
- Communicate regularly with management regarding the condition of the building and related systems.
- Supervise external contractors performing maintenance work.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt processes and standards.
- Basic computer skills and computational ability.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Mechanical knowledge, particularly of chillers, boilers, water softeners, and refrigeration equipment.
- Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
Nice-to-haves
- Preferred knowledge of mechanical equipment maintenance.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing employment and safety regulations.
