About the position

The Maintenance Technician at Elmington Property Management plays a crucial role in maintaining the Lafayette Landing Apartments. This part-time position involves responding to service requests, performing repairs, and ensuring the property is well-kept. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing, carpentry, and appliance repairs, and will be dedicated to providing exceptional customer service to residents.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service requests and complete repairs promptly.
• Diagnose problems and repair major appliances, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems (when no license is required), general carpentry, pool care, and roof and gutter repairs.
• Address landscaping issues and perform snow/ice removal as needed.
• Communicate effectively with residents and coworkers, even in difficult situations.
• Provide exceptional customer service to residents.
• Perform service requests correctly and promptly.
• Utilize computers and company software to access emails and manage work orders.
• Execute Elmington's non-negotiables related to service work orders and vacant unit turns.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of property maintenance and/or maintenance experience.
• HVAC certification preferred/required.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to maintain the physical condition of the property.
• Experience in building maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to respond to issues outside of normal work schedule when required.
• Proficient in using hand tools and power tools.
