About the position

The Maintenance Technician I position at Milo's Tea Company is responsible for supporting the maintenance department through mechanical inspections, overhauls, and preventative maintenance tasks. This role is crucial for ensuring the operational efficiency of machinery and equipment, contributing to the company's commitment to quality and safety. The technician will perform emergency repairs, document machine malfunctions, and uphold food safety requirements while adhering to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all assigned preventative work order tasks safely and in a timely manner.
  • Follow all maintenance policies and procedures to meet department expectations utilizing maintenance excellence best practices.
  • Complete work entries in the CMMS system with all data fields completed as work is performed.
  • Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during production operations.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust machines.
  • Document all machine malfunctions on work orders in the CMMS system.
  • Perform routine visual inspections of machinery and equipment.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and document findings to a work order with follow-up communication with supervisor or maintenance planner.
  • Follow safety policy and procedures including lock out-tag-out, hot work permit, working from heights and confined spaces.
  • Maintain maintenance inventory levels through parts consumptions.
  • Maintain a minimum of 65% work order versus paid hours metric by documenting all work performed to a work order as work is completed.
  • Uphold and participate in all Corporate Responsibility programming including recycling, social advocacy and MMAD volunteering opportunities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or Trade or vocational school diploma; or three years of maintenance related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems.
