About the position

The Maintenance Technician I at Greenlight Networks plays a crucial role in ensuring optimal internet service for customers by maintaining and repairing fiber optic networks. This position involves hands-on work in new-market fiber expansion, troubleshooting network issues, and collaborating with team members to enhance network performance.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance & repair of fiber optic equipment and lines in various environments.
• Running and splicing of fiber optic cables for new-market build-outs and make-ready projects.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting disruptions in network performance and repairing faulty components.
• Auditing and testing of customer-facing enclosures.
• Collaborating with other teams to resolve escalated network issues quickly.
• Working outdoors in various weather conditions to resolve technical issues.

Requirements

• Minimum high school degree or equivalent, with post high school coursework preferred in a related field.
• Previous exposure to electrical, fiber, or cable-related skilled craft work preferred.
• Valid Driver's license.
• Basic understanding of splice documents and maps.
• Basic understanding of fusion machine and testing equipment.
• Ability to safely work from heights, up to 50' in bucket truck or ladder.
• Basic troubleshooting abilities.
• Basic knowledge of mapping software.
