About the position

The Maintenance Technician position at Extended Stay America is responsible for ensuring that all property equipment is functioning properly and that the premises are maintained in pristine condition. This role requires a strong commitment to providing excellent service to guests and associates, performing repairs, conducting preventative maintenance, and maintaining records in accordance with company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a commitment to providing the best possible experience for guests and associates.
  • Work with minimal supervision while performing essential duties to satisfaction and company standards.
  • Assist guests upon request and respond to all guest requests diligently.
  • Perform out of room cleaning to maintain the premises, including trash removal and cleanliness of the building interior and exterior.
  • Complete repairs listed on work orders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and repairs as outlined in the Green Shield Binder.
  • Follow the Green Shield Inspection schedule daily to accomplish all tasks in accordance with company standards.
  • Maintain records of Guest Room PM deficiencies, PM Room Inspections, Life Safety Inspections, Elevator Inspections, and Non-Guest Room Deficiency Log.
  • Keep the maintenance room organized and manage maintenance tool inventory.
  • Ensure all fire safety equipment is operational and inspections are current.
  • Maintain the pool and/or spa in compliance with ESA policies and local ordinances.
  • Assist with emergency responses at the property or sister locations when requested by management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively with guests, associates, and outside vendors.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety rules and operating instructions.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hotel maintenance or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and ADA safety regulations.
