About the position
The Maintenance Technician / Building Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair tasks within the facility, ensuring the upkeep of various systems including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. This role involves using various tools to install, repair, and maintain building infrastructure, as well as performing grounds maintenance and landscaping tasks. The technician will also respond to facility alarms and system failures, communicate maintenance needs to supervisors, and assist with emergency preparedness duties.
Responsibilities
- Utilize various power and hand tools for construction, installation, and repair tasks.
- Perform general maintenance and upkeep of facility systems including plumbing, heating, and electrical.
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing fixtures such as valves, faucets, and sinks.
- Maintain and repair electrical systems including wiring, light fixtures, and switches.
- Perform ground maintenance tasks including mowing and snow removal.
- Operate and maintain lawn and garden equipment.
- Prepare surfaces for painting and apply finishes or paint as needed.
- Complete reports on equipment operations and maintenance work performed.
- Monitor and respond to facility alarms and system failures.
- Communicate repair and maintenance needs to supervisors.
- Assist with inventory management and distribution of supplies.
- Drive to various off-site locations to perform job duties as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One year of general maintenance and repair experience required.
- Valid Oklahoma driver license required.
- 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance or as a maintenance technician required.
- 3 years of experience in HVAC required.
- 2 years of experience in building maintenance required.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of safe working procedures and practices.
- Ability to use a personal computer and required software programs.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively.
