About the position

Danfoss is seeking a Maintenance Technician for their Utica, NY facility. This role involves providing support to Production Operations by repairing and maintaining production equipment. The position operates on a 3rd shift schedule from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday to Friday, and offers a comprehensive benefits package from the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to identify faulty components under the guidance of the Production Maintenance Engineer.
  • Observe and test machinery and equipment operations to diagnose malfunctions using multi-meters and other test equipment.
  • Analyze machine error messages and information from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system components of production equipment, including PLCs, DC drivers, AC inverters, and VFDs.
  • Perform basic maintenance duties and repairs as assigned.
  • Complete all required reporting and documentation.
  • Work in a cleanroom environment per semiconductor industry and Danfoss Silicon Power protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
  • 2 years hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical or electronic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic/hydraulic drawings, schematics, and engineering blueprints.
  • Ability to read precision measuring instruments such as Micrometers, Calipers, Indicators, Levels, and Lasers.
  • Physically capable of prolonged standing and working in awkward positions while performing maintenance.
  • Available to work overtime including weekends and evenings.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Well-organized with the ability to prioritize tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior clean room experience.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of advanced processing and process equipment, specifically around troubleshooting electrical components.
  • Ability to operate computer and system interface programs for production information analysis.
  • Proficiency with software applications, including Microsoft Office, Excel, SAP, Maximo, and Adicom.
