About the position

The Maintenance Technician position at Astrix Technology involves performing essential maintenance and repair tasks within a chemical manufacturing environment. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the facility. The technician will work on the first shift, focusing on preventive maintenance and troubleshooting various mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild pumps and valves, with specific experience in mechanical seals, lip seals, packing, bearings, gaskets, couplings, and alignment of pumps to motors.
• Work with piping systems including flanged, threaded pipe, welding, stainless and carbon steel.
• Install and maintain pipe supports, heat tracing (steam), and insulation.
• Utilize chain falls, chokers, hoists, come-a-long's, and various equipment moving devices as required.
• Conduct preventative maintenance including oiling and greasing pumps and motors, and maintaining gearboxes.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators, protective gloves, footwear, suits, hearing protection, and eye protection.

Requirements

• Associates Degree preferred.
• Experience with mechanical repairs, maintaining and rebuilding pumps, valves, pipe fitting, welding, and replacing seals and packing.
• Experience with preventative maintenance, oiling, and greasing.
