About The Position

Golden State Foods is a food manufacturing company with more than 70 years of experience producing beef patties and protein products for major quick service restaurant brands. The Opelika facility is USDA-inspected and produces billions of hamburger patties annually while maintaining strict food safety and quality standards. This role will lead day-to-day maintenance operations within a food manufacturing facility, supervise maintenance technicians, and ensure timely completion of work orders and production support activities. The position also involves managing preventive maintenance programs, spare parts inventory, and equipment reliability initiatives, while supporting production goals through downtime reduction and continuous improvement efforts. The supervisor will ensure compliance with OSHA, USDA, and company standards, and monitor maintenance KPIs, project completion, and cost containment initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of maintenance experience REQUIRED
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience REQUIRED
  • Experience supervising daily maintenance activities REQUIRED
  • Experience scheduling and monitoring preventive maintenance programs REQUIRED
  • Experience leading and mentoring maintenance personnel REQUIRED
  • Up to 18 months of post-high school education in Engineering, Electronics, or related technical field from an accredited vocational, technical, or junior college

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day maintenance operations within a food manufacturing facility
  • Supervise maintenance technicians and ensure timely completion of work orders and production support activities
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs, spare parts inventory, and equipment reliability initiatives
  • Support production goals through downtime reduction and continuous improvement efforts
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, USDA, and company standards
  • Monitor maintenance KPIs, project completion, and cost containment initiatives
  • Supervise and develop a maintenance team of 10-20 employees
  • Assign and monitor preventive maintenance activities
  • Coordinate maintenance projects focused on productivity and reliability improvements
  • Partner with production teams to resolve operational issues and improve processes
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for maintenance-related concerns
