About the position

Homestead Companies is a fully integrated development, construction and real estate company specializing in multifamily, student housing, and active 55+ living. We have over 7,000 student housing beds and over 2,500 multifamily units located in seven states with our home office in Columbus, OH. The Maintenance Supervisor manages all aspects of maintenance and grounds at our property. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of upkeep or repair operations. This position will tend to 160 units at two properties with a part-time maintenance tech assisting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance checks on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and other equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
  • Address and resolve maintenance issues, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair or replacement. Complete work orders promptly and efficiently.
  • Conduct regular inspections of common areas, grounds, and apartment units, identifying and addressing maintenance concerns and safety hazards.
  • Respond to after-hours emergency requests promptly and effectively, including weekends and holidays, to ensure the safety and comfort of residents.
  • Maintain the overall appearance of the property by performing landscaping, groundskeeping, and snow removal duties when needed.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring that necessary items are always in stock.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and service requests in Entrata.
  • Effectively communicate with residents, property management, and leasing staff to ensure timely resolution of maintenance requests and a high level of resident satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Ability to work as part of the team in on call-rotation schedule
  • Previous experience in property maintenance preferred
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including on call and weekends
