About the position

The Maintenance Supervisor at Crane Aerospace & Electronics is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of mechanics, installers, and repairers. This role involves managing work schedules, monitoring employee performance, ensuring adequate working conditions, and leading training efforts. The supervisor will also be involved in personnel actions and maintaining operational records, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the maintenance department.

Responsibilities

  • Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel.
  • Monitor employee work levels and review work performance.
  • Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.
  • Investigate accidents and injuries, and prepare reports of findings.
  • Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
  • Compile operational and personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair and maintenance statistics, and test results.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
  • Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
  • Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
  • Lead and participate as a member of the site facilities emergency response team.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in maintenance and repair, including prior experience in a Lead position.
  • Full understanding of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Good leadership and people skills.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and review the work and performance of subordinates.
  • Capable of handling a crew of skilled craftsmen.
  • Ability to handle the stress of dealing with multiple tasks at once.
  • Ability to make decisions quickly during crisis situations.
  • Computer literate and able to work within a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Facilities Management, or Operations.
