About the position

As a Maintenance Supervisor I at International Paper, you will lead and direct plant maintenance activities to ensure that equipment and facilities are kept in optimum operating conditions. You will report to the Manufacturing Manager any information that may impede the operation of the plant while providing technical expertise regarding plant equipment and facilities. Your role will involve initiating and maintaining a cost-effective preventive maintenance program, implementing quality improvement and cost reduction ideas, and working with vendors and subcontractors to achieve desired results. You will also maintain adequate inventories of spare parts and purchase materials, parts, and supplies as required. Troubleshooting and solving problems will be a key part of your responsibilities, as well as partnering with the Maintenance Manager to develop the technical skillset of the maintenance team and championing a safety culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct plant maintenance activities
  • Report to Manufacturing Manager about operational impediments
  • Initiate and maintain a cost-effective preventive maintenance program
  • Implement quality improvement and cost reduction ideas
  • Contact and work with vendors and subcontractors
  • Maintain adequate inventories of spare parts
  • Purchase materials, parts, and supplies as required
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Partner with Maintenance Manager to develop technical skillset of maintenance team
  • Champion safety culture

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years' maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility
  • College and/or related technical courses preferred
  • Experience in the corrugated box industry with heavy experience in electronics preferred
  • Mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electricity experience preferred
  • Demonstrated personnel supervisory skills
