About the position

As a Maintenance Technician C at Republic Services, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of our fleet. Under the direct supervision of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance on both diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks. This position requires a basic understanding of vehicle systems to carry out routine maintenance and repair tasks effectively. You will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment, supporting our drivers as they navigate their routes and service some of the most technically advanced vehicles on the road. Each day will present new challenges, allowing you to tackle a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall success of our operations. In this role, you will maintain a basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems of vehicles to perform essential preventive maintenance and some repair functions. Your responsibilities will include conducting vehicle PM inspections and adjustments, performing oil changes and fluid replenishments, making adjustments and light repairs such as tire changes, and executing basic electrical work, including light changes. You will also conduct visual inspections to identify potential equipment issues and diagnose the sources of malfunctions using various tools. Completing applicable company training programs will be part of your responsibilities, and you may be assigned other job-related duties as necessary. Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks.
  • Conduct vehicle PM inspections and adjustments.
  • Perform oil changes and fluids replenishment.
  • Make adjustments and light repairs including tire changes.
  • Execute basic electrical work, such as light changes.
  • Conduct visual inspections to identify potential equipment issues.
  • Identify sources of malfunctions using a variety of tools.
  • Complete applicable Company training programs.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Completion of a certified diesel maintenance program is a plus but not required.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification T8 PM is a plus but not required.
  • Valid Driver's License is preferred.
