Reporting to the Acheson Shops Manager, you will ensure the proper deployment of job resources including ordering parts, assigning personnel work duties, and executing a Planning Schedule. Requirements

Journeyman (Journeyperson) Heavy Equipment Technician certification required.
Post secondary education or equivalent experience relating to shop/field supervision.
AMSA (Alberta Mining Safety Association) certificate.
Three years experience in a supervisory position in a heavy equipment shop.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Trained in CSTS, WHMIS and Standard First Aid.
Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and ability to provide a recent Driver’s Abstract
Undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing: Breath Alcohol Test, Urine Drug Test, Fitness-to-Work Health Assessment, Audiometric Testing, Vision Screening, Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

Setup and present a morning PSI Meeting.
Do a morning check in with all employees, and assess fit to work.
Assign work to each employee.
Check and approve Time Cards for hours worked, work preformed, proper Time Card Coding.
Fill out Requisitions and order parts for jobs and shop consumables.
Prepare and present Weekly Safety Meeting.
Review Daily/Weekly work plans and ensure appropriate actions are taken to address KPI performance issues.
Secure and ensure proper deployment of job resources including ordering parts, requesting personnel, tools and consumables.
Ensure and enforce compliance to all company, client and legislated safety policies and procedures.
Ensure all new hires/transfers receive required orientations. Attend and participate in site specific orientations.
Conduct daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections and complete follow-up activities.
Ensure adequate and suitable safety equipment, including PPE, is supplied, readily accessible, properly used and maintained.
Review safe work plans/ hazard assessment with crew prior to job commencement.
Conduct incident investigations and prepare associated support documentation immediately.
Ensure the effective use of the work order system.
Participate in the hiring process for new personnel and the discipline of current personnel as required.
Coordinate with the Equipment Superintendent to ensure proper training of personnel
