About the position
NVE Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Plumber to join the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team, focusing on federal facilities in the Kansas City, MO area. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of critical government facilities through maintenance and repair of plumbing systems and fixtures.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic building maintenance of plumbing systems and fixtures at a government commercial office building.
- Conduct minor preventive maintenance functions of plumbing systems and fixtures, including backflow preventers and stormwater management systems.
- Respond to service requests under the guidance of the PM, Chief Engineer, or Supervisor.
- Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions.
- Perform emergency repairs and be available for after-hour and weekend repairs.
- Work effectively with customers, building tenants, and other team members.
- Troubleshoot and complete assigned work orders in a timely manner.
- Read blueprints and generate design concepts using available tools.
- Utilize basic office equipment including cell phone, tablet, telephone, fax, and copy scanner.
Requirements
- At least five (5) years of journey-level experience in plumbing maintenance and repair.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Journeyman Plumber License (must be maintained for continued employment).
- OSHA 30 certification desired.
- Existing HSPD-12 Determination for Work.
