About The Position

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities for large mobile mining equipment and support equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and automated lubrication systems. The planner must also possess excellent communication skills, computer proficiency, deductive reasoning abilities, and knowledge of Root Cause Failure Analysis. A solid understanding of MSHA, safety, and environmental regulations is essential, along with skills in project management, predictive maintenance, equipment repair, and maintenance planning. Strong mechanical skills, including welding, fabrication, machining, and rebuilding, are also required.

Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of diesel engines.
  • Knowledge of maintaining large mobile mining equipment, including haul trucks, wheeled loaders, rubber tired and tracked dozers, graders, and all types of mine support equipment.
  • Troubleshooting abilities in hydraulics, pneumatics, low voltage electrical, and automated lubrication systems.
  • Good people skills and ability to effectively communicate with superiors and subordinates verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions in Excel, Word, MIMS, PowerPoint, MS Access and MS Outlook.
  • Deductive reasoning skills.
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Failure Analysis.
  • Ability to navigate through complicated and detailed schematics.
  • Sound understanding of MSHA, safety, and environmental regulations as they relate to the area of work.
  • Skills in project management, predictive maintenance, equipment repair, and maintenance planning.
  • Strong mechanical skills and understanding of welding, fabrication, machining, and rebuilding.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Training or instruction in Environmental Awareness.
  • Training or instruction in Safety & Health awareness including completion of the appropriate OSHA and/or MSHA training.
  • Good working knowledge of modern safety systems.
  • Current and valid driver’s license.

  • Ensure compliance with MSHA, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Manage projects, implement predictive maintenance strategies, oversee equipment repair, and develop maintenance plans.
  • Apply strong mechanical skills, including knowledge of welding, fabrication, machining, and rebuilding.
