Administration of Environmental Quality Programs

About the position

Under general direction, performs and supervises the District's Asset Management Program related to domestic and recycled water treatment plants, bio solids facilities, sewer and their associated management systems. Plan, schedule and coordinate a broad spectrum of predictive, corrective, and preventive maintenance activities with managers and supervisors to ensure required materials, tools, equipment and staff are available.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision, guidance, training and performance feedback to assigned staff.
  • Plan and schedule work orders while ensuring compliance with job safety assessments and procurement requirements.
  • Develop detailed job plans (tasks, resources, parts, duration, frequency, etc.) for preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance repair/ replacement activities.
  • Ensure all aspects of environmental, regulatory and safety policies are incorporated into all job plans.
  • Develop implement and apply procedures to manage the planning and scheduling processes to ensure the planned work can be executed on time and as per scope.
  • Partner with purchasing and maintenance personnel to identify and procure spare parts.
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term maintenance schedules and coordinate these with all parties to obtain a high level of compliance.
  • Perform field inspections and investigations for work clarification.
  • Maintain the EAM database, including collecting and updating asset data attributes and revising asset hierarchies.
  • Advise and support multidisciplinary teams on complex problem resolution. Perform Root Cause Analysis.
  • Comply with safety work-related practices and attend relevant safety training.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of industrial maintenance and repair experience, including two (2) years of supervisory experience, and four (4) years of experience planning and scheduling maintenance and repair work.
  • Working knowledge of pumps, motors, electrical, and mechanical equipment typically used in water/wastewater treatment plant operations or comparable facilities is required.
  • A valid Class 'C' California Driver's License is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • CWEA Plant Maintenance/Mechanical Technologist Grade IV certification desirable.
  • State Water Resources Control Board Grade III Water Distribution Certification desirable.
