About the position

The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler at Advanced Technology Services is responsible for evaluating work requests, developing scopes of work, and ensuring efficient scheduling of maintenance tasks in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role involves maintaining a prioritized backlog of work orders, conducting planning meetings, and training employees on maintenance management systems. The position aims to enhance the effectiveness of maintenance operations through continuous improvement and effective communication with production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate non-emergency work requests and develop scope of work.
  • Inspect job locations to determine job requirements.
  • Estimate labor hours, skillsets, parts, materials, and equipment needed for jobs.
  • Gather relevant technical documentation such as drawings and specifications.
  • Verify availability of parts prior to scheduling jobs.
  • Maintain an organized and prioritized work order backlog.
  • Conduct weekly planning and scheduling meetings with production teams.
  • Create a Weekly Technician Schedule that maximizes technician labor hours.
  • Improve work order planning and scheduling effectiveness through review processes.
  • Maintain records and files for analysis and reporting of maintenance matters.
  • Train site employees on CMMS and ensure its integrity.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in a technical field required.
  • 1-3 years of maintenance scheduling/planning experience or 5-10 years as a machine repair technician.
  • Familiarity with industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficiency with computers and maintenance systems, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.

  • Desire to develop leadership attributes.
  • Experience in job plan development and scheduling.
  • Project management and capital project experience preferred.
  • CMRP certification.
  • Green Belt certification.
  • STS certification.
