About the position

The Maintenance Operations Tech role at Johnson Controls involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining production equipment and machinery to ensure reliable and efficient operations. The position emphasizes technical support for automated systems and requires a proactive approach to prevent unexpected downtime. This role is integral to maintaining the performance of smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose problems, repair, adjust, and maintain production equipment and machinery.
  • Test and inspect parts regularly to identify issues.
  • Take preventive measures to avoid unexpected downtime.
  • Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain test systems and procedures according to instructions and requirements.
  • Analyze test data and modify parameters in test procedures to meet quality standards.
  • Provide technical support on automated equipment such as CNC and robot systems.
  • Instruct production personnel in the proper and safe operation of test systems.
  • Assist line personnel with unit troubleshooting.
  • Set up and maintain computer hardware for test and automated systems.
  • Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and one year experience, or Associate degree and six years' experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of two years technical training in electronics (degree or diploma) or equivalent experience and training.
  • Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including e-mail, Microsoft Office software, and SQL.
  • Knowledge in computer databases and networking is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability.
  • Effective and professional communication and organization skills.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and skills in wiring, instrumentation, electromechanical and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on multiple tasks.

  • Preferred HVAC experience.
