About the position

The position provides technical support in the manufacturing of liquid drinks, requiring versatility and problem-solving skills to address breakdowns and implement preventative maintenance to avoid machine malfunctions and unnecessary downtime. The technician will collaborate with all team members to meet production goals within operating budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Work with all departments to meet or surpass the plant's safety goals.
  • Follow all GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Participate and provide input during DDS (Daily Direction Setting) meetings.
  • Prioritize and coordinate maintenance work to ensure maximum equipment uptime.
  • Perform troubleshooting as needed to minimize downtime.
  • Perform equipment repairs.
  • Install, repair, and maintain all types of electrical and mechanical equipment including PLC's, wiring, motor starters, switches, motors, gearboxes, pumps, filters, actuators, valves, etc.
  • Read and understand all types of blueprints and CAD drawings.
  • Operate power tools, hand tools, and electrical and instrument test equipment to install, maintain, and troubleshoot plant equipment.
  • Operate welders and torches to perform repairs.
  • Operate trade specific tools including micrometers, calipers, and verniers.
  • Operate all types of machine shop equipment including drills, lathes, milling machines, grinders, and cut-off saws.
  • Document work performed and any unusual conditions or defective equipment in SAP.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and a clean and orderly work area.
  • Administer training as needed.
  • Provide leadership toward team development and participate in Green Room process improvement meetings.
  • Mentor 'M' Technicians in technical and leadership skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of service as an 'M' Technician.
  • Understanding and following company and site policies and procedures on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Hold Tags, HACCP, USDA, Foreign Objects, Safety and Security.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety and quality standards in manufacturing environments.
