About the position

EXCEL Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Millwright to join our team. As a Millwright, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment in industrial settings. Your expertise in mechanical systems, precision alignment, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance will be crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our industrial processes.

Responsibilities

  • Machinery Installation: Assemble and install new machinery and equipment, following technical specifications, blueprints, and manufacturer instructions.
  • Machinery Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on industrial machinery to ensure their optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
  • Machinery Repair: Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot breakdowns, and repair or replace defective parts to minimize downtime.
  • Precision Alignment: Align and calibrate mechanical components, including gears, couplings, belts, and bearings, to ensure accurate and efficient operation.
  • Lubrication: Lubricate machinery and equipment to maintain smooth functioning and prevent wear and tear.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with machinery and equipment to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Predictive Maintenance: Utilize predictive maintenance techniques, such as vibration analysis and thermal imaging, to detect potential equipment issues before they cause failures.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other maintenance personnel, operators, and engineers to coordinate maintenance activities and improve equipment performance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Industrial Millwright or a similar role in industrial maintenance and machinery repair.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including gears, bearings, shafts, and couplings.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical specifications, blueprints, and mechanical diagrams.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve machinery issues efficiently.
  • Familiarity with precision alignment techniques and equipment, such as dial indicators and laser alignment tools.
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques, such as vibration analysis and thermography, is advantageous.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Physical strength and stamina to lift and maneuver heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with team members effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • NCCER certified is a plus.
  • Valid safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 10, OSHA 30) are a plus.
