Performs required preventative maintenance to minimize and/or prevent equipment downtime.

Requirements

  • Ability to use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
  • Strong electrical, mechanical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions in a timely manner while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Computer skills as they pertain to this job including but not limited to: Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in oral and written forms, with vendors, customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
  • High School degree, diploma or a GED;
  • At least 2 – 3 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Preferred Education: Mechatronics or Industrial Maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools like PLCs, HMIs, and electrical schematics to identify root causes of malfunctions.
  • Inspect or test damaged machine parts and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs.
  • Clean and lubricate machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures.
  • Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
  • Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
  • Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.
