About the position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing a variety of mechanical tasks to install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot plant equipment and site facilities in a GMP environment. This role involves working with various mechanical systems and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures while supporting safety programs and maintenance initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs process equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Completes work orders using the CMMS (Maximo) system.
  • Performs repairs and modifications as directed by Maintenance Supervisors and Plant Management.
  • Supports and participates in training programs.
  • Keeps Maintenance Supervisors informed of job status.
  • Supports site safety programs and leads failure analysis processes.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in the shop and at job sites.
  • Ensures high quality of workmanship in the PM/PdM program.
  • Assists with equipment installation and repair techniques.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent; Associate or Technical degree in a mechanical field preferred.
  • 1 - 3 years mechanical experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing operation.
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools and ability to perform basic math.
  • Ability to read measuring tape, calipers, and blueprints.

Nice-to-haves

  • Welding skills.
  • Experience with a CMMS such as MP2 or Maximo.
  • Learning on the Fly, Problem Solving, Interpersonal Savvy.
