Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on material handling equipment.
  • Conduct daily systems inspections of mechanical and electrical components.
  • Diagnose machine malfunctions and determine need for adjustment or repair.
  • Troubleshoot and repair material handling equipment including sorters and conveyors.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on material handling equipment and report any problems.
  • Utilize the computerized maintenance management system to monitor and document equipment usage.
  • Dismantle machines to examine parts for defects and replace or repair defective parts.
  • Assemble and test operate machines to verify correction of malfunctions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on facility including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical duties.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and report safety concerns.
  • Remove dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years direct experience in maintenance.
  • Commercial or industrial maintenance related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
  • Resourceful self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and handheld technology.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
