About the position
Tindall Corporation is a leading Precast Concrete Manufacturer, with locations throughout the Southeastern U.S. Our mission is to support our customers, create remarkable structures, and deliver never-before-seen solutions every step of the way. The ideal candidate will train on the 1st Shift for a few weeks before transitioning to the 3rd Shift. This position involves assisting Maintenance Mechanics in all work to learn the skills of a Class A Maintenance Mechanic. Work includes performing some activities of lesser skills independently, such as tuning up automobiles and general maintenance of building structures, as well as working closely with trained mechanics to diagnose and repair machinery and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assist Maintenance Mechanics in the performance of various duties.
- Examine machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose the source of trouble.
- Dismantle machines and reassemble if necessary.
- Replace broken and worn-out parts; order replacement parts if required.
- Make all necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation.
- Keep the building structures and equipment in good repair, including repairing plumbing fixtures and occasionally painting or touching up structures or equipment.
- Repair, rebuild, or overhaul internal combustion engines, including replacing piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors, etc.
- Overhaul transmissions and repair fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the Supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
