About the position

The Maintenance Manager oversees daily maintenance operations, leading Maintenance Leads and Reliability Techs B and C. Primary focus is on the Extrusion Department due to equipment complexity, while also supporting Twisting and Heatset teams with preventive maintenance, overhauls, and technical guidance. The role includes supervising equipment installation, modification, and repairs, and managing capital and expense projects to improve production efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manages Maintenance Leads and Reliability Techs B & C to ensure safe and timely plant repairs.
  • Oversees maintenance activities across the facility.
  • Coordinates vendor-contracted maintenance on equipment.
  • Provides technical input to the Plant Engineer and other managers for equipment procurement and modification.
  • Ensures maintenance staff are properly trained, partnering with the Training Team for skill development.
  • Maintains personnel oversight, including attendance tracking and discipline enforcement.
  • Partners with the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to ensure materials and tools are available for maintenance tasks.
  • Supports training of production associates to build autonomous maintenance capabilities.
  • Serves as Shaw Certified Project Manager (CPM) per SPI guidelines.
  • Enforces company policies and ensures compliance with the Shaw Employee Guide.
  • Partners with the Safety Manager to deliver annual SAFE training requirements.
  • Follows standard work procedures and Shaw Management System protocols.
  • Ensures maintenance goals are met for mechanical performance, downtime, absenteeism, quality, and safety.
  • Leads regular maintenance meetings and attends plant/departmental discussions.
  • Ensures compliance with PM and PdM programs.
  • Maintains fair and consistent employee treatment.
  • Oversees contractor/vendor support for maintenance across the facility.
  • Able to travel as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Engineer.

Requirements

  • College Degree required, prefer Mechanical / Electrical / Chem E.
  • Must have at least five (5) years of Maintenance experience with two (2) years of experience in Maintenance Leadership/ Management/Planning.
  • Must possess good interpersonal, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required – as related to equipment downtime or planned shutdowns.
