About the position

The Maintenance Machinist position at Copeland involves installing, maintaining, and repairing production machinery, equipment, and plumbing and electrical systems. This role is essential for ensuring efficient production processes while maintaining high-quality standards. The technician will work closely with engineers and production supervision to coordinate repairs and modifications, perform diagnostics, and implement preventive maintenance strategies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all equipment repairs, changes, and modifications with engineers and production supervision.
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on production machines and systems.
• Work with machine assembly drawings and electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic schematics to diagnose problems and dismantle defective machines.
• Initiate orders for and install new or repaired parts.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Install and repair electrical components of machinery and equipment.
• Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Install, program, diagnose, and repair automated machinery and equipment such as robots and PLCs.
• Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, etc.
• Assist in developing preventive maintenance schedules per OEM and engineering recommendations.

Requirements

• Experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing production machinery and equipment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting machine assembly drawings and electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic schematics.
• Knowledge of electrical components and systems, including transformers, relays, and circuit boards.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and equipment.
• Ability to operate cutting torch or welding equipment.
• Familiarity with automated machinery and CNC equipment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with PLC programming and diagnostics.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance strategies and practices.
