About the position

The Industrial Technician position at Vulcan Materials Company involves maintaining and repairing plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations at the Havre de Grace Quarry. The role emphasizes safety, mechanical skills, and the ability to work in various weather conditions while contributing to the production of essential construction materials.

Responsibilities

  • Promote safety by prioritizing safety throughout the operation in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on plant equipment including screen changes, conveyor belt repairs, wear parts replacement, and water pump service.
  • Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of plant equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations.
  • Monitor and review various aggregate processing areas to identify problems and ensure compliance with safety and material standards.
  • Document and maintain service and lubrication reports for preventative maintenance.
  • Perform general physical activities such as cleaning, washing, and shoveling materials.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production is preferred.
  • Ability to work overtime and extended hours based on customer and company demands.
  • Capability to work outside in all weather conditions and tolerate exposure to loud noises.
  • Some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
