About the position

The Maintenance Electrical Technician 1 is responsible for performing advanced maintenance inspections, diagnosis, and equipment improvements in an industrial electrical maintenance environment. This role involves providing technical support during emergencies and engineering improvements while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electric and electronic advanced maintenance inspections and diagnosis.
  • Provide support in emergencies and engineering improvements.
  • Conduct failure analysis to establish root causes of problems and implement actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Calibrate and adjust electronic instruments and industrial PLCs.
  • Program and adjust variable speed drive controls.
  • Diagnose and intervene in PLC malfunctions, identifying software or hardware failures.
  • Manage sensors control loops and variable speed drives.
  • Ensure availability of resources and spare parts for programmed tasks.
  • Verify the correct functioning of tools, instruments, and accessories against specifications.
  • Carry out repairs and improvements on large electrical engines, low and mid voltage panels, and protection systems.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and perform advanced electric and electronic repairs, replacements, and upgrades.
  • Follow up on repairs to ensure work effectiveness.
  • Cooperate with the Base Group in preventive maintenance activities.
  • Interact with other areas as needed.
  • Operate forklifts or radio control overhead cranes when applicable.
  • Update information in maintenance systems and perform maintenance reports.
  • Lead Electric/Electronic Emergency Crews.

Requirements

  • Experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
  • Proficiency in interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Knowledge of calibration and adjustment of electronic instruments and PLCs.
  • Experience with programming and adjusting variable speed drive controls.
  • Ability to diagnose PLC malfunctions and identify failures.
  • Experience with sensors control loops and variable speed drives.
  • Familiarity with maintenance systems and reporting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in electrical maintenance or related fields.
  • Experience with safety and quality compliance in industrial settings.
