About the position
The Maintenance Data Specialist role at TxDOT's Maintenance Division focuses on supporting various offices across the state by training users on data entry in the Maintenance Management System (MMS), ensuring data quality, and generating performance reports. This position allows for a hybrid work environment with telework options and requires regular travel to different locations for training and oversight.
Responsibilities
- Train staff on MMS software data entry and reporting.
- Perform data collection and evaluations to ensure accurate statewide maintenance data entry.
- Research and evaluate data, interpret and analyze results, and prepare reports to support maintenance operations.
- Prepare and deliver transportation-related presentations at conferences and meetings.
- Represent the Department at various meetings with stakeholders.
- Coordinate and support training for MMS software use.
- Investigate new methods of data entry and reporting, and train staff in these areas.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
- 4 years of experience in transportation design, construction, traffic operations, maintenance, or bridge inspection for Transportation Specialist II.
- 5 years of experience in the same fields for Transportation Specialist III/IV.
- Valid driver's license.
