About the position
We are seeking a Mainframe Developer with excellent DB2 skills to join our team on a full-time contract basis. This role is hybrid, 2 days onsite and 3 days remote each week. The position is focused on analysis, design, coding, and testing for various applications supported by the Application Team.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, code, and test application code owned by the Apps Team
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Application Architects, and other team members to ensure requirements are met
- Develop program specification requirements and deliver new or modified programs
- Conduct unit testing and participate in system testing with users
- Provide technical expertise and collaborate with the ITO and ATCSU units
- Develop supportive documentation for programs
- Participate in database conversions and provide production support
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in COBOL/CICS/DB2 coding, testing, and debugging
- Experience with IBM OS/JCL (MVS) and IBM/DB2
- Strong experience in Stored Procedures
- Experience with CICS, including coding, testing, and debugging
- Experience in usability testing with users
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel
- 4-year college degree or equivalent technical study
- Experience in conversions from IDMS/DC to CICS and IDMS to DB2
