About the position
As a CNC Machinist at Enovis Foot & Ankle, you will be responsible for manufacturing small orthopedic products through various machining activities. This role involves planning, operating, and adjusting CNC machines to ensure high-quality production while adhering to safety and quality standards. You will work in a climate-controlled environment and be part of a team dedicated to transforming patient care and outcomes in the medical technology industry.
Responsibilities
- Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and specifications.
- Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine control as required.
- Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Operate equipment within a cell with multiple machines to produce high-quality parts.
- Change inserts/tools and make necessary offsets to continue production per specifications.
- Maintain equipment via established preventative maintenance schedules.
- Follow all prescribed quality procedures and inspection plans.
- Perform 1st piece inspections and monitor own work to meet process requirements.
- Verify that inspection equipment is calibrated and perform daily checks for accuracy.
- Troubleshoot problem processes and interface with Manufacturing Engineers as necessary.
- Work from blueprints, process sheets, and sketches to perform production tasks.
- Communicate directly with engineers to understand part assembly purposes.
- Check and inspect machining operations against specified tolerances.
- Identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.
- Complete all required recordkeeping accurately.
- Keep the surrounding area clean, safe, and organized.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience on CNC Lathe with live tooling.
- Experience reading and interpreting documents such as drawings and routings.
- Preferred CNC programming skills.
- 1 to 2 years' experience on a Swiss machine.
