About the position

As a CNC Machinist at Enovis Foot & Ankle, you will be responsible for manufacturing small orthopedic products through various machining activities. This role involves planning, operating, and adjusting CNC machines to ensure high-quality production while adhering to safety and quality standards. You will work in a climate-controlled environment and be part of a team dedicated to transforming patient care and outcomes in the medical technology industry.

Responsibilities

  • Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and specifications.
  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine control as required.
  • Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Operate equipment within a cell with multiple machines to produce high-quality parts.
  • Change inserts/tools and make necessary offsets to continue production per specifications.
  • Maintain equipment via established preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Follow all prescribed quality procedures and inspection plans.
  • Perform 1st piece inspections and monitor own work to meet process requirements.
  • Verify that inspection equipment is calibrated and perform daily checks for accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot problem processes and interface with Manufacturing Engineers as necessary.
  • Work from blueprints, process sheets, and sketches to perform production tasks.
  • Communicate directly with engineers to understand part assembly purposes.
  • Check and inspect machining operations against specified tolerances.
  • Identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.
  • Complete all required recordkeeping accurately.
  • Keep the surrounding area clean, safe, and organized.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience on CNC Lathe with live tooling.
  • Experience reading and interpreting documents such as drawings and routings.
  • Preferred CNC programming skills.
  • 1 to 2 years' experience on a Swiss machine.
