About the position
The Machine Operator I position at Dover Food Retail involves supporting the press brake operation, ensuring safe and quality production of sheet metal components. The role requires operating multiple brake presses, performing quality inspections, and maintaining equipment cleanliness, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Operate multiple brake presses and perform a variety of operations associated with safe and quality production.
- Power up, run, feed, and power down the applicable equipment.
- Measure product dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation and perform quality inspection of finished product as required by work order.
- Perform first piece inspection to confirm tolerances and dimensions are within specifications.
- Perform general clean-up duties of the equipment and surrounding areas.
- Perform basic material handling duties with the use of manual pallet jack and/or forklift to move material and stage materials.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of CNC press brake experience.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and understand standard and metric blueprints.
- Ability to calculate bend allowances for various material types and thicknesses.
- Ability to select the proper punch and die tooling.
- Ability to set up, adjust, and operate Brake Press for a variety of operations.
- Ability to inspect parts using precision measuring equipment and document inspection data.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Physical ability to stand, reach, bend, twist, sit, and lift up to 50lbs routinely.
