About The Position

Vision Plastics, Inc, the Northwest leader in custom injection molding, is hiring Machine Operators for the graveyard shift! This role involves working in a clean environment with paid on-the-job training. The ideal candidate is punctual, has good attendance, and can work independently as well as with a team. The primary responsibility is to operate an injection molding machine to produce quality molded parts.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand, and verbally communicate work instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Basic reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manually cycle machine by opening and closing gate.
  • Ability to lift, reach, and pull up to 25 lbs. frequently.
  • Ability to stand for long periods (at least 8 hours).
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments, including temperatures reaching up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow Production Operating Instructions (POI) and verbal instructions.
  • Run machine at required cycle time.
  • Monitor machine for malfunctions and report them to the supervisor or designee. Ensure the machine does not close on molded product and/or inserts.
  • Verify parts meet quality standards by reviewing samples, identifying rejects and their causes, and coding rejects in the RT system.
  • Process parts according to POI and customer quality standards, which may include trimming, sanding, cutting, assembling, boxing, and packaging.
  • Keep an accurate count of all parts, manually or using scales.
  • Fill out work orders and labels accurately and legibly, verifying lot numbers with work orders and containers.
  • Communicate effectively with other employees, notifying the oncoming operator of any problems.
  • Monitor and ensure all necessary equipment for jobs is stocked, notifying the supervisor or lead of any needs.
  • Make suggestions for improving operator procedures and other improvements through internal suggestion programs.
  • Keep the work area clean, neat, and organized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
