About The Position

Machine Operator (Maintenance & Production) in Detroit, MI. This role is more than just pushing buttons; it's a vital part of the Maintenance Department, responsible for the heartbeat of the liquid filling production line and the integrity of the entire facility. The position offers a stable schedule with standard daytime hours and flexibility when needed, along with opportunities for professional growth by working directly with the Facilities Manager. The environment is dynamic, immersing the operator in industry-leading practices from 5S standards to secondary contract packaging.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in machine operation and maintenance within a production or warehouse setting.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Understanding of mechanical alignments and sensors.
  • Valid driver's license and your own vehicle for local part runs.
  • Ability to pass an internal forklift test within the first 30 days.
  • Ability to stand/walk for your shift and lift a minimum of 20 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic Microsoft Office or WMS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, sanitize, and prime the liquid filling line, configuring settings for maximum efficiency.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on high-tech equipment, including ink-jet printers, heat tunnels, and conveyors.
  • Conduct weight checks and seal integrity inspections to ensure product quality.
  • Clear jams, manage tooling changeovers for different bottle sizes, and ensure the warehouse racking and dock doors are in top shape.
  • Identify safety hazards using mechanical knowledge, coordinate with outside contractors, and procure parts from local vendors.
