The Machine Operator II role involves operating automatic packing machines to pack products into shipping cartons, ensuring continuous line production.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and instruct a team of co-workers on complex packaging line(s) through set up, adjustment, and changeover.
  • Demonstrate and make minor repairs and/or adjustments to equipment as needed.
  • Ensure proper safety, quality and sanitation checks and documentation are complete.
  • Communicate with Control Room and Warehouse on material requirements, including coffee, tea and packaging.
  • Document material usage, and rejects/defects as needed.
  • Verify production quantities for accurate inventory postings in ERP.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) as needed.
  • Use knowledge, creativity, and continuous improvement initiatives for implementing efficiencies, safety and/or quality improvements of the work environment.
  • Assist with other packaging lines/personnel as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be fully qualified and can demonstrate efficient and effective operations of at least three (3) unique types of packaging machines.
  • Experience in similar environments, food/beverage or pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Demonstrate initiative, take direction, and execute efficiently, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points, Quality Control Points, and Safe Quality Food guidelines.
  • Able to demonstrate proper work techniques, training and guiding line team members.
  • Ability to train and lead others, work well with varied personalities, respectfully communicate and provide positive feedback, at various levels of the organization.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including overtime and periodic weekends required.
  • Demonstrate safe work habits and excellent work ethics.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrate physical capabilities, particularly lifting up to 30 lbs.
