About the position
The Machine Operator position involves operating machinery and ensuring the accuracy of layer counts, as well as performing general cleaning and housekeeping tasks. The role requires physical stamina, as operators will need to lift rolls and walk up and down stairs frequently throughout their shifts. This position is available on all shifts, with pay ranging from $20.00 to $23.50 per hour based on experience and shift.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that layer counts are accurate.
- Stamp cores legibly.
- Manually lift rolls from spindles and place them on a scale for weighing.
- Stack finished rolls into gaylords.
- Ensure that empty gaylord skids are available for change when full gaylords are ready.
- Perform general cleaning and housekeeping tasks.
- Continuously walk up and down stairs after each batch (70+ times per shift).
- Use and read basic measurement tools, such as a measuring tape.
Requirements
- 1 year of experience as a machine operator is required.
