About The Position

Smartpress is a fast-growing online printing service that is disrupting the traditional printing industry. They are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Bindery Operators for machines such as Perfect Binders, Stitchers, Folders, and Cutters. The role involves handling small format products that require bindery work before packing and shipping. The company is 100% employee-owned and committed to eco-friendly practices.

Requirements

  • Possess a thorough and organized approach to your work

  • Have basic computer skills, including Pace and Google Suite
  • Be self-motivated, a fast learner, and show initiative to seek out customer and corporate needs

Nice To Haves

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • A two-year Technical or Trade School diploma
  • Three years’ experience as a bindery operator, cutter, folder or booklet maker
  • Worked in a manufacturing environment for 2-5 years
  • Worked in a fast-paced mid-size company
  • The ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis

Responsibilities

  • Complete the job successfully and provide a quality product the customer will want to order again
  • Run the bindery equipment in a small format capacity
  • Run existing bindery equipment and be open to learning how to run new equipment
  • Troubleshoot production problems to ensure productivity and quality standards are met
  • Perform Quality Control (QC) procedures to meet Company standards
  • Perform basic maintenance of the bindery machines
  • Complete miscellaneous projects and various tasks as requested by management
