About the position

Hypertherm Associates is accepting applications for our upcoming CNC Fundamentals Course, aimed at individuals looking to start their career or make a career shift. We provide a clean, safe, supportive, state-of-the-art manufacturing environment suitable for individuals with diverse backgrounds, including military, food service, retail, healthcare, and education. As a CNC Machine Operator, you will work with your team to produce machined parts for our plasma cutting systems through machining, assembly, and packaging tasks, using standard work instructions. You will also have the opportunity to participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance quality, reduce costs, and increase shared profits. Our Technical Training Institute will guide you through a US Department of Labor approved Apprenticeship Program to learn the valuable trade of CNC Machine Operation.

Responsibilities

  • Produce machined parts for plasma cutting systems through machining, assembly, and packaging tasks.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to reduce environmental impacts and enhance quality.
  • Follow standard work instructions in an assigned manufacturing area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Comfort and interest in working with technology, including experience with MS Office (Outlook/Excel) and Windows Operating Systems.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn technical material.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow and process instructions.
  • Basic math understanding.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work 3rd shift - Sunday to Thursday, 11:00 pm to 7:00 am.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with CNC machinery.
