About The Position

This position is for a Machine Operator 1 in the Metallic Coat department, specifically for the AWW2 Weekend Night Shift. The role involves operating a variety of production machines, performing routine operations, and producing blades and/or vanes. Quality checks are a crucial part of the daily tasks. This position requires shift work and the ability to work overtime when needed. Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Previous Manufacturing experience or education or Advanced Manufacturing Certification

Nice To Haves

  • 2 or more years of machine or manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of production machines including washer, shot peen, furnace, water & air flow, electrode assembly, laser weld, tack weld, laser ablation, tape & wax, x-ray, bake and detailer.
  • Perform daily standard work and complex operations successfully, adhering to standard work and all work instructions.
  • Read and interpret process sheets.
  • Deburr and clean parts.
  • Make minor offset changes if required.
  • Change set ups.
  • Document information on check sheets and keep dimensional data on run charts.
  • Utilize measuring devices and assess product acceptance based on blueprint specification(s).
  • Run all equipment in the entire work loop and produce product per standard work.
  • Clock labor in Solumina.
  • Perform Daily Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and document results.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean (5S).
  • Frequently move about the machine line to operate various manufacturing equipment (approximately 90% of the time), bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, transport product and/or equipment weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skills.
