About the position

The position is part of the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Protection Analytics team, which focuses on combating abuse and enhancing user trust. The role involves leveraging data analysis and machine learning to develop solutions that prevent abuse while supporting the growth of Google Cloud customers. The team collaborates with various departments to ensure safe and trusted experiences for users.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and solve problems using data and statistical methods.
• Identify and prevent fraud and abuse.
• Improve tools and automated systems through data analysis and technical expertise, presenting findings to stakeholders.
• Perform data analysis to drive decision-making, including monitoring the roll-out of new models and investigating the impact of machine learning model changes.
• Evaluate new features and data sources for modeling to enhance existing model performance and explore new use cases.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
• 2 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in a quantitative discipline.
• 4 years of experience with one or more programming languages (e.g., SQL, R, Python, or C++).
• 2 years of experience with machine learning systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in a fluid environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
