About The Position

Under the direction and guidance of the registered nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse or Physician performs a variety of clinical/ clerical duties and tasks to provide effective patient care.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or Equivalence
• Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Program
• One (1) year previous experience in a medical setting of relevant experience required.
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
• Successful completion of St. Barnabas Hospital orientation.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual preferred.
• Knowledge of Computer Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Taking vital signs: Measuring and recording blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiratory rate.
• Drawing blood: Performing phlebotomy to collect blood samples for testing.
• Assisting with procedures: Helping physicians during examinations and minor surgical procedures.
• Collecting samples: Gathering urine, stool, and other specimens for laboratory testing.
• Maintaining equipment: Ensuring medical equipment is clean, sterilized, and in good working order.
• Stocking supplies: Keeping track of medical supplies and restocking as necessary.
• Assisting with patient flow: Helping manage the flow of patients through the clinic to minimize wait times.
