About the position
The LPN/Medical Assistant position at Allergy & Asthma Affiliates involves providing a wide range of clinical duties for patients of all ages, with a focus on pediatrics. The role emphasizes patient care, teamwork, and maintaining a positive attitude in a supportive environment. Responsibilities
- Greets and creates a positive patient experience with each patient and their family.
- Conducts patient assessments including vitals and medical histories.
- Rooms and prepares patients for procedures while maintaining neat and clean clinical areas.
- Performs diagnostic procedures (skin testing, spirometry, etc.) and basic lab tests (CLIA waived).
- Administers diagnostic and therapeutic medications, injections, and immunizations as directed by providers.
- Provides patient education, instruction, and support regarding treatment plans.
- Coordinates patient referrals, lab orders, prior authorizations, and pre-certifications.
- Triages nurse calls and calls in prescriptions.
- Enters, scans, and updates clinical documentation (EMR) ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Maintains and stocks medical supply inventory and equipment.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- MA, CMA, RMA, LPN, RN or equivalent experience.
- Excellent people skills.
