About the position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a crucial role in the clinic setting, performing various clinical and administrative tasks to assist patients through their healthcare journey. This position focuses on planning and managing patient care according to individual needs while providing high-quality, respectful care. Alternatively, Medical Assistants (MA) are also integral to the HSHS Physician Enterprise, engaging in direct patient care and administrative functions under the supervision of healthcare providers, with opportunities for internal growth across various specialty departments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and managing patient care according to each patient's needs.
  • Perform clinical and administrative tasks to support patient care.
  • Engage in direct patient care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Provide support in reception activities, greeting and assisting patients and visitors.
  • Complete the business side of patient visits under supervision.

Requirements

  • Completion of state approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Training Program is required.
  • 1-2 years of LPN experience is preferred.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of practice is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
  • Completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required for MA roles.
  • 1 or more years of Medical Assistant experience may be considered in lieu of completion of program.
  • Medical Assistant (MA) Certification/Registration required from recognized credentialing organizations.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) is required within 60 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification for LPNs.
